Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

Followed by cop into another juristiction

I took my wife to work at nine in the morning. I had all windows down and was doing the speed limit. The road was a four lane highway and the cop was in the middle lane traveling a little faster than us. As we approached the city limit, he put on his turn signal to make a U turn. My wife and I continued driving towards her work. About three or four miles later, I looked in my rear view and he was pulling me over. He first accused me of having drugs in the car. Then he said he pulled me over for illegal tint. Personally, we live in a bad area of West palm Beach. I believe he was just bored. My question is, can he pull us over for a non moving violation outside his juristiction?

Maybe. Many police officers have been deputized by neighboring jurisdictions to be able to give out traffic tickets due to the close proximity of borders. Without knowing if this holds true in this case, nobody will be able to give you a viable response.
