Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

Hello,

I just wanted to include additional information about my accident:

I was on Ronald Reagan Turnpike North heading towards exit 39 (I-75 North) and it was a rainy overcast day. There was debris (pieces of a construction cone and parts from a previous accident) on the initial part of the road towards the exit, all of which has been documented with pictures on my phone. As I was going within the speed limit (to which the cop was a witness to) I pressed the brake to maneuver safely around the debris and slowly onto the exit, which is still considered a part of the highway as it merges into another one. My car lost traction as I pressed on the brake slowly to try to get my car under control. My car hit the exit barrier near the sign of exit 39 (note, in the pictures the initial part of the barrier was already damaged) both in the back and front side of the car it spun out due to the wet road. I was driving safely and cautiously although the trooper (which was not present at the time of the accident) decided to give me a citation for driving fast under conditions to which a previous had acknowledged I was driving within the speed limit. He also proceeded to write on the citation that I incurred $3,500 worth of property damage to the barrier, which was damaged on the same section and other sections as well; I took pictures of other car parts (not mine) that were there from previous crashes in the same location as well as pictures of the already damaged barrier. I would love to speak to a representative or advisor that could guide me through the right path to clear my name and any issues this may bring.

Thanks for the help,

Esteban Vargas

You said you're including additional information so I'm unclear where the other information. However, to answer your question here, what you need to do is call an attorney in your area. You can get a free consultation from most attorneys and speak with them to find that right path for you and who will explain how the process works in that jurisdiction.
