Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

Speeding Ticket

I recieved a ticket for 77 in a 45. I was in a company truck,a tractor with no trailer. The officer of the highway patrol clocked me via: ''speedometer pace clock''. The only problem is that all vechicles in my company are governed to 65mph with the cruise control set and 67mph with the accelerator ''floored''. I have a print-out of the computer from this truck that all speeds, tackometer, governor are still set to factory standards from 8 years ago and a company mechanis to state that speeds are controled by the vehicals computer only. Can I beat this ticket or have it reduced?

Re: Speeding Ticket

You can always request a reduction, but it sounds like you have a good argument that you were not going faster that 67 mph. If you get it reduce to 14 over (59 mph or less), it will not get reported to your insurance company or be on your record. I would suggest taking all documentation to your initial hearing and talk to the solicitor (prosecutor) to try and reduce the ticket.
