Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

We are a non profit group organized in Florida. A volunteer wanted to know how they would designate a beneficiary to a future trust disbursement to our organization. Would it be the non-profit corporation legal name or a position on the board of directors, or a specific person. As an all volunteer board, members will change yearly.

If you are a 501c3 then it would be the name of the corporation and tax deductible. If you are a corporation, but not a 501c3, then they still can make it payable to the corporation, but it is not tax deductible. It would be included in the revenues of the corporation. If you are not incorporated, then it makes it problematic, and it is not tax deductible.

To leave it to an individual does not mean it would go to the non profit group.
