Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia

I had to file bankruptsy in 2003 because my sales business failed after 10 years. I am now disabled and my income can not pay what I owe, as a christian I have tried to find other means of paying but it looks like chapter 13 is my only option. It is mostly Medical bills and a couple of credit cards. how long do you have to wait before you can file bankruptsy again. Like I said I hate to even have to consider this as an option but my health is bad and my SSI is my only income and I am a 55 year old single person. Can you supply me with the answer to my question and how much do you charge for a bankruptsy.

God Bless

Susan Gresham

You didn't say if your 2003 case was a 13 or 7, which is information that changes the answer completely and is needed.

You probably can file a 13 now if you qualify. Whether you can do a 7 now or have to wait until 2011 depends on the information you omitted. Whether you actually can or should file depends on things not in your post.

The fees for either depend on things you did not post, such as the amount of debt, number of creditors, where you live, your marital status, your income etc.

Feel free to call me for further discussion.

First, I suggest you contact the admin at this website immediately and ask that your question be removed because it has your name. It could come up in search engines like google for years to come and it is now public for anyone to see. It should have been flagged for this reason and removed, but since it was answered by a lawyer instead of being flagged it cannot be removed by the lawyers. Second, this is a general info site and not a law firm or law office, so no one here can tell you what is charged. Finally, there are no doubt bankruptcy lawyers in your community to contact. They can tell you the options you have. Email the LawGuru support contact page immediately to remove your information.
