Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
Can I sue to get a deposit back?
I sent a person out of state 18,000 deposit for a firearm. The deposit was never nonrefundable. All contracts were by mouth and e mail. I changed my mind and we agreed to settle for half the amount returned. The guy now wants to keep all the money, and the firearm.

Re: Can I sue to get a deposit back?
If you sent someon $18,000 as a deposit (much less the final figure) that was dumb, dumb, dumb!
You may be out of luck. If the agreement was that it was nonrefundable as your post suggests, then it is nonrefundable.

The agreement may be enforceable in GA. Consult with an attorney in the county where your seller lives.
