Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

How can I prove self defense?

I am treasurer for our baseball association. While paying a concession stand worker, a disagreement broke out. There is a contract stating how workers are to be paid. I attempted to explain the contract. The other individual started screaming. I never raised my voice. Suddenly, she came charging at me with her hands in the air. Leaning against a wall, I had no where to retreat. In order to stop her/defend myself, I struck her in the face. She continued to fight me. I grasped her wrists so she couldn't further attack me. When she was pulled away from me, she called the police. Both of us are charged with disorderly conduct. I have a witness who heard the argument, but saw nothing. I had given her a note about ten minutes before the fight that I was afraid trouble might insue. She showed this to the police. She heard the other lady screaming and my remaining calm. The only other person to witness anything has stated repeatedly the only thing she saw was us arguing, then the other person coming toward me, then us fighting. The other party is trying to subpoena this person to testify for her.

Re: How can I prove self defense?

This is too complicated and also to personal to even try to give you an answer in this type of forum. You should consult with a local attorney.
