i was told you have to be seperated for a year before you can get a divorce in georiga.we were married in lafayette .ga..my husband and i lived there.8month later i wount a divorce.but dont know to start.i am from alabama and have moved back a month ago.

You must be separated in Georgia at least one second (there is no waiting period). Since you have moved to Alabama, whether or not you can file in Georgia now depends on facts you failed to post.

You have to be a resident of the state of georgia for six months before you can file. What county you file in depends on many jurisdictional factors. Generally, you have to file in the county of the defendant.
