Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Can my parents take or restrict acess to my property

I am 18 years old and still living with my parents. They take some of my belongings away from me. restrict my acess to them, and have thrown away items that belong to me which are worth large amounts of money. Is it legal for them to do this. If not is are there any legal measures I can take. For items that were thrown away before I turned 18 which i bought with my own money which i earned from a job is there anything i can do.

Yes. You very likely have a right to take legal action against your parents for conversion and trespass to chattel for all property involved. But, they can retaliate by kicking you out, so you have to weigh your position here. The small claims limit in magistrate court is $15,000, and cases there are handled informally. You would file in the county where they live.
