Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

I was on child support and was told to catch up my child support by July 7, 2010 or my license would be suspended. My wife went in to pay it at the office and was told she would have to mail it in or pay it online. So she went home and paid the full amount on July 1, 2010 online an got a receipt. I have CDL's so my license are the only way I have to support my family. On August 16, 2010, I had applied for a new job, when they in form me that my license had been suspended since July 27, 2010. I first contacted Atlanta Child Support Office by the 800 number. They explained to me that they did not know why they were suspended because I had paid on time. Know on my license I have a suspension and it is making it difficult to get a job. What can I do about getting this suspension off my record. And do to them for putting it on my record and messing my record up.

Probably not much you can do about them putting it on your record and messing your record up. However, you should be able to get a written letter or affidavit from Atlanta Child Support that you can give to the DMV to clear your CDL record. If not, you may need to hire a Georgia litigator to bring these parties into Court for a resolution.

Best of luck.*******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create at attorney-client privilege.*******
