Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Gift from friend

A friend gave me a computer about 9 months ago. I've been using it since. She now wants it back and claims she can take me to court and get it back because she says she has the receipt and credit card statement. But I have a message from her stating that it was a gift. Can she really get it back and take me to court over this?

Re: Gift from friend

Anybody can sue anybody for anything. Winning is another matter. Gather your message and any witnesses and get ready to go to court.

Anyone can sue at any time. Whether that suit is valid and can survive is a different issue. If it truly was gifted to you, she would not have legal claim for its return.
