Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

I.Q. Testing in the Workplace

Is I.Q. testing legal as a pre-employment assessment. Please explain. If testing or assessment is not job-related, is validation required. If so, how do you validate? Which laws does I.Q. testing violates?

Re: I.Q. Testing in the Workplace

I have never heard of IQ testing as a pre-employment assessment. While there is probably nothing per se illegal about such tests, I would imagine that such tests have the effect of discriminating against some protected groups. If you were affected by such tests because those tests may tend to discriminate against your class of persons and the test is not needed for the business, you may have a legitimate complaint. Without more information, however, it is impossible to tell.
