Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

I was having issues with my former boss, I filed a harassment and discrimination claim with the HR dept. they found no wrong doing but decided we had a "misunderstanding" regarding one of the policy's. Two days later I was terminated for a different reason but the same incident that was a "misunderstanding". Do I have any legal recourse?

You might have a claim. However, more facts are needed regarding the underlying claims and the retaliation matter.

Before you can file suit, you must file a claim with the EEOC (assuming you are a covered employee and the employer falls under Title VII). You may want to visit the EEOC's website for more information (www.EEOC.gov.). Although you don't need an attorney to file a charge with the agency, you should think about consulting with an attorney beforehand. All too often, people focus on issues that are irrelevant to discrimination and retalitation matters and fail to protect their claims when completing the initial forms.

I am available to discuss the matter with you. (678)793-7745; (770)367-1234.
