Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

I needed legal advice on wrongful termination and to know if my mother would have a case. My mother works at Kroger and they don't operate the way that they should. They use each other's cashier numbers, including management. And she has told me on many occasions that managers won't use their numbers but they request to use their insubordinates numbers. This pass Monday, my mother went to work, and they told her that she was suspended because they were short and it fell under her number. She had only worked 4 hours the day that they said it happened. They had her sign the suspension papers and sent her on her way. It (the letter) said suspension pending, so she has no idea how long this will take place. She has been working for them since 2008, and hasn't had any problems. She believes that they are trying to set her up and that they may have already terminated her. She already has proof that they all (including management) use each other's cashier numbers (which in retail, you're never supposed to) On her suspension papers, she wrote out, we all use each other's numbers along with a few other things and they signed it (without reading what she had written). She wasn't aware that using another employee's cashier number was wrong until I told her Monday evening. By them signing it, wouldn't that be consenting to what she'd said? Her union rep called her the day after (after she had made an attempt to call him first and got no answer) and told her that they're going to fire her and that she should let it go. He's not doing his job. She has proof that they're lying and that she could have been unjustly terminated and with her having paid for his services, he should be putting in more effort. They claim to be "investigating" the situation, but the reality is, if they share numbers (as their not supposed to) what proof do they have that she did it? And my mother is very honest, she always has been. She has a terrific reputation at her job with pins, awards, etc. It could possibly be discrimination. Not sure, but how could they put her off for something that 3 other people were involved in and they are all still working? It's wrong and she has proof that they lied about not using each other's numbers and that it was her fault. What can she do? It's only been 3 days since it happened. Thank you for any help that you are able to give me.

Wrongful termination cases in Georgia are very difficult, because unless the firing violates a written employment contract or written union contract, they do not need a reason to fire her.

I don't specialize in employment cases but your mother may want to consult with an employment lawyer to see if a case could go anywhere or not.
