Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

I have a ex girlfriend living with me and ive been trying to get her to move out for the last few weeks and she keeps telling me no and to go get a evictions notice before she will. She pays not a single cent in rent or any water or electric bills. So my question is do i have to get a eviction notice or can i just call the police and have them remove her? If i have to get a eviction notice how would i go about doing that? Thanks for your help

You can't just throw someone out and you can't call the police. If you allowed someone to live there they are a tenant and you must give 60 days notice (preferably in writing by certified mail). If she ignores that, you file a dispossessory in Magistrates Court. In trying to make her move the way you did, you are in violation of Georgia law.
