I received an eviction notice...can I just move out or do I have to answer notice for a court date to be scheduled? LAM. Alpharetta ga

If you have "real defenses" to dispossessory action you will need to file answer and/or counterclaim on or before due date

Otherwise you can choose not to answer and move out on or before the date your time answer is due (take a lot of really good pictures -- and save them for at least two years -- of interior and exterior if you rented a house - once apartment/house cleared out and you have cleaned areas up so that landlord cannot claim damages beyond normal wear and tear)

You do not have to leave a forwarding address with your landlord BUT go to post office and have all you mail HELD THERE until you have new residence
