Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

False statement on message board

I inadvertently posted on a local message board something about a dog rescue that was not true. It was meant to be a private email, and I believed it to be true at the time, but I stupidly sent it to the whole board. The board moderator removed it, but the dog rescue says they are suing me now. Is that possible? They are in TX, I am in GA.

I doubt much would come of this. However, for peace of mind, consult with a local attorney.

It is "possible" for almost anyone to file a lawsuit. The lawyer you hire to defend you in a lawsuit, if filed, will discuss the merits.
