Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Property easement/ingress /egress

I have 7 acreas of property, and another relative has 25 arcres behind my 7 acres who would not have access to their land except to request easement. Both of us recently spoke to a surveyor who suggested I deed out atleast 80 feet of land to give the other party access to their 25 acres otherwise they would not be able to build back there without this 80 foot easement and eventual road. I verbally agreed because I wanted to do the right thing, but now I regret the arrangement because I plan to give the property to my son after I pass and the other party plans to do the same but now I am wondering if my son will have to ask egress or inegress to the property and what if he wants he decides to do something with the property , like build a small an apartment building or two on his property and will need a pave a road to do so. Was there any other way this could have been handled without suggesting deeding the 80 foot to the other party for access to their property. Please advise me. We have not met with an attorney yet, but the surveyor suggested the other party have theri land recorded which includes the 80 foot. Please advise me. Thank you.

This is too complicated to answer in this type of forum. Consult with a local attorney.
