Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Rental Contract

Our Rental contract is up in April. The landlord gave us a typed letter in January stating that we could by the property for $34,000 and that the offer stands for 90 days. Then he mails another stating we had until FEb 1st however it was postmarked Feb 9th. Then we receive another postmarked Feb 10th that the house is under contract and set to close on FEb 20th. That we will receive information on our march and april payments that are due the new owner. Can he sell it after giving us the opportunity. Can he sell it while under a rental contract with us? And can the new person raise our rent for our last two months?

Thanks!

Re: Rental Contract

Your problem is whether the letter in January meets the legal requirements of a contract. I can't answer that question without reviewing the letter. You should consult with a local attorney.
