Filesharing

What are the laws for filesharing? I would like to know if I would be sued if I ever decided to use a peer to peer network like limewire or kazaa.

Depends on what you do with them. P2P has been held legal. The individual is libel for copyright infringement when copying copyrighted works, but the network is not. I am a copyright lawyer and I use Shareaza, Morpheus Ultra and Ishareit, but for legal sharing only.
