Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

Suing for Money Owed

My girlfriend and I broke up and I asked her to move out. She's on my lease, and I told her I would pay the remainder of the lease on the condition she paid me for bills that she racked up. I was already paying a majority of our rent and her own bills in her name. Now she won't pay me the money agreed upon, is there anything I can do to get this money from a legal standpoint? She has now put me close to 3,000 dollars in debt.

Re: Suing for Money Owed

Sue her in small claims court and hope the judge does not agree with her that it was a gift.
