Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

roommate and sons broken arm Hospital billing me!

Roomate and son are staying for a short period of time in my home. The son broke arm outside of home, Mother just applied for medicad (after the accident). Hospital is sending me (the homeowner) the bill. I was present to tranlsate in the ER and signed nothing. Can the hospital sue me/ bill me, the homeowner? I return all the correspondence via certified mail and stated I was not in anyway responsible for the billing. Whats next?

Re: roommate and sons broken arm Hospital billing me!

In all likelihood, it appears that your roommate has given out your name and address as the party responsible to pay for the medical bills. At this it appears from what you say that you have done what needed to be done--your next move is to wait and see what happens and whether you will be served with suit papers...

I hope this helps,

good luck-
