COBRA Health Insurance
I was getting Cobra insurance from my former employer and stopped paying for it at a cost of 742.89 a month in August,2001. I recieved a letter from my company saying it was cancelled as of August 1. There were some claims that were paid in Oct,2001. Now they are saying I am responsible for 4 months of Cobra=2800.00. They are threatening to put a lean on my house! Can they do this to me?

Have you tried negotiating with the health insurance company to reimburse it for the medical claims it paid?
