Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

My daughte is a sales person. She went in to receive her check. Her boss showed her,

her check, but she said that she wan't giving it to her because she doesn't have enought

money in her account. She said if she would give her check to her and she would take it to her bank

that it would cost her money because she doesn't have the money in there.

An employer is required to pay its employees on the day the employer has designated as payday. Designating a pay day is a legal requirement. Showing an employee their paycheck but refusing to give it to the employee is a violation of the law.
