Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

I was in a car accident and I hit a pole. It happened because it was snowing and the streets were not cleaned, and a car drifted in front of mine.I hit the breaks too hard in order not to hit him, but my car sled and hit a pole. There were no damages to the pole or the other car(he ran away) as the police officer said but she still gave me a ticket. She also said that she will show up in court and say that there were no city damages. The ticket says that I was driving too fast for the condition. Would I be fined and what should I do when I go to court ?
