Property taxes & mortage

My aunt passed about a year ago,She had one son and myself that lived in the same house.The son is now in jail and the house is still in my aunts name. The property taxes are due,If I pay the taxes will i inherit the house? I grew up in this house and don't want to see it go under forcloser.

If you just pay the taxes, the house will pass to whoever takes it under your aunt's will, or to her son if she hadd no will and the son is her only child and she has no husband.

If you want to take ownership of the house, you can either buy it from her son, or, if it goes up for sale due to unpaid taxes, buy it at the tax sale and hope nobody comes along with a claim to redeem it.
