Can someone sue me because I did a termite inspection for a realty transaction about a year ago and now they have termites?

Sure someone can sue you. Whether they will win is a different question. It would depend on your expertise, any disclaimers you made, whether this someone can prove that the termites were there when you conducted your inspection, whether you were negligent in conducting your inspection, etc., etc. If you have insurance, you should contact your insurer. If not, you may want to retain an attorney.

I agree w/ Mr. Moens. I hope you had them sign something -- a proposal, contract...?? that told them the scope of your work, whether it is guaranteed or not, etc. And you should have had insurance, but general liability won't do it -- you will have needed insurance more like malpractice for your business. If you have an agent, check w/ him or her.
