Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Guardianship of children

My husband and I are going on a trip without our four children in a week. We do not have time to draw up a will before we go. Is there anything we can do to assign guardianship of our children in the event of our deaths? We have verbally told the relatives if something happened to us we would want them to have our children.

Unfortunately, there is not much else you can do. If you need a will quickly, I am sure you can find an estate planning attorney that will accommodate you. Besides assigning a guardian for your children, you need to do everything in your power to protect their finances as well.
