Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

I was requested to sign off an a relatives estate. The house was sold and all the "final" papers were signed. I was told that the monies would be deposited in my checking account within a couple of days by the lawyer.

It has been a week + since this has occurred. The lawyer specifically gave that time period.

What is holding it up from deposit? The Banks???

Sincerely,

Walter

Winding up an estate is not always expedient. There may have been a delay in getting the papers filed with the court, or any number of other valid reasons. On the other hand, it may simply be a delay in getting the checks in the mail.

You should probably wait another week and then give the lawyer a call to see what the status is.

Good luck to you.
