I am rupinder singh gurm I am a ex-partner in vijeta security servives in ludhiana my partner giving me a 108000/- cheque as a compensation but cheque was bounced I am asked him he says please re present the cheque i represent the cheque the cheque was bounced again. My advocate serve a notice to him his advocate says we are still partner the cheque for capital gain not for compensation now the case in civil court how can i prepare the case. help me.

you can file a criminal complaint under negotiable instruments act.

YES ABSOLUTELY,Check is a negotiable instrument and bouncing of a cheque is a Criminal Offence, which is governed by NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENT ACT, 1881. It is punishable by up to 2 yrs of imprisonment.
