Re: visiting common nuisance

When a person knowingly or intentionally visits a building, structure, vehicle or other place that is used by any person to unlawfully use a controlled substance, he commits the crime of Visiting a Common Nuisance. It basically means being with other people that are using drugs. It is a Class B misdemeanor, the penalties are not more than 180 days in jail and not more than a $1000 fine. However, because your son is 15 his case will in all likelihood be handled as a juvenile matter, which provides several different options for a the court in determining punishment.
