Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

legal seperation

I would like to know my legal rights if I legally seperated from my husband. Would I qualify for any financial assistance for my children(3)?

Re: legal seperation

You would certainly "qualify" to receive child support for the children you had together.

Whether you receive spousal support depends on the individual facts of the case. Generally the courts don't order spousal support unless one of the parties is disabled and cannot work OR if there is a great disparity in income.

You have to petition the court for these things, though. The court won't automatically make sure you get them.

Hope this helps answer your questions.
