Unpaid child support

Can unpaid child support be assigned to another for collection and would it lose it's status as child support in the eyes of the court.

Once the unpaid support is reduced to a judgment, you can "sell" that judgment to someone for collection. There are professional agencies that do that.

Then it doesn't matter if it's for support or because a rampaging elephant caused damage. A judgment is a judgment.
