Legal Question in Medical Leave in Indiana

FMLA employer asked me to work while at home

I have been out on FMLA due to depression and anxiety since 9-27 and while on fmla I also had immediate knee surgery. My dilemma is that while on fmla my employer asked me to work from home. I worked 7 1/2 hours (during one day). Is what they asked of me 'legal'. Will it hurt my FMLA leave?

Re: FMLA employer asked me to work while at home

If your employer is forcing you to work while on FMLA leave, such an act interferes with and likely violates your rights under the FMLA. I am not sure, however, of the intent of your question regarding whether it will hurt your FMLA leave. I would invite you to contact an attorney to explain your situation and learn about your rights under the FMLA. You may also find information at the Department of Labor's website (www.dol.gov) I can be contated at [email protected] or the number in my profile, if you wish.
