Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

custody

My xhusband has/had physical custody of our 14 yr old son, jurisdiction IA, son now back in California. Records for enrollment in school released and a letter from x's attorney states that no authorities will be called for parental kidnapping. (on me) But if I proceed with DA/calif for child support, can X change his mind and enforce son to go back to IA? I still plan to change custody/jurisdiction, but am having trouble finding legal aid or at least forms.

Re: custody

You can always go after child support, and he can always try to take your son back. I would first go to court and get legal custody. File forms for change of custody here in CA. You can do this ex parte.

Then, after you have been granted custody, turn the case over to OCCSS and let them go after child support.
