Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

A local "magnet" hospital knowingly falsified birth information so that even though the woman was married to someone else she was allowed to name her newborn child the "boyfriends" last nameon ALL the legal documents including birth certificate,etc. rather than her married name. Is this legal and if not what can be done to correct this ?

A mother can put the name of whomever she wants, or no name at all on the birth certificate. That doesn't sound like the hospital knowingly falsified information to me.
