Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Iowa

Do I have to file Will if their is no estate

Dad passed away in Jan of this year, mother passed away last year in June. Their is no estate so do i have to file Dads will, he has no money or property. I am only surviving child. I was their POA and am also listed as executer in the will.

If there is no property and no debt, a probate is unnecessary.
