Legal Question in Workers Comp in Iowa
My husband was involved in an auto accident while driving the co vehicle, the accident was not his fault. They made him do a post accident drug test and he failed. They fired him, but he is still under the doctors care from the accident. Is it legal to be fired until released?

This is Iowa, and it is a right to work state. Unless you have a contract of employment you can be terminated for any cause, good cause or no cause at all, at any time.
Thats a tough situation and probably its going to get tougher over time. There can be problems with keeping his job, workers' compensation benefits and also unemployment benefits with a positive drug test. I'd suggest you immediately schedule an appointment with a lawyer and discuss this off-line, meaning in private and confidentially.
