After a bad car wreck and losing my job , my husband had to file bankruptcy Chapt.7 in order to pay our living expenses, This was finalized on 11/16/07, Now 07/09 I have been served papers/Law suite by a debter on the bankruptcy case this was also listed on the discharge of debt.paperwork.This company always refused payment unless it was for the amount they requested,with the loss of my imcome. Can they sue me for all this $.

I would need to examine this more closely in order to determine whether or not the bankruptcy releived the debt. This likely depends on the type of debt and bankruptcy involved. There may be some other ways to help on this.

If the bankruptcy discharge was for both yu and yur husband,, and the debt was frm befre that date, then they shuld nt have sued yu fr the dalleged debt. If only yu husband was discharged in bankruptcy, and yu were als a debtor in the account or contract being sued over, then there is little to prevent them from going after you for this debt. If you can consult with the attorney that handled the bankruptcy. If you cannot, then consult directly with someone. It may just take sending the bankruptcy case number to the creditor's attorney.
