release of judgment

i am buying a house closing is on march 12 but i have to have a release of judgment b4 then i payed the judgment to the collection agency and now the attorney wont give me my release he said he would do it when he gets to it but i need it now or i will loose the house how can i get him to give it to me?

You may file a Satisfaction of Judgment, and set it for hearing in front of the Judge who entered the judgment. When the attorney gets the Notice of Hearing, he will likely concede the Satisfaction rather than go before the Judge to explain why he did not file the Satisfaction when requested. This is assuming you did not pay by personal check, whereby the attorney would be wise to hold off filing a Satisfaction or Release for several weeks.
