Legal Question in Employment Law in Kansas

I am a contractor that did some work for a company back in August of 2009. The company has not paid me for the amount and they did sign a contract agreeing that they would. They even said that they would not pay until 30 days after receiving the invoice. (and the invoice was sent) That date was written on said contract and has long since passed.

What action can I legally take to receive the payment I am owed?

Yours is not really a labor or employment question, but rather a contract issue. You can demand payment. Unless your written agreement says otherwise, you sue the company if they fail to pay. You may email me if you are interested in having someone look at your written agreement and perhaps collect this bill for you.

Good luck
