Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kentucky

court summons

I had a car repoed in 2005, and have not paid on it since oct. 2004 because i wrecked it and did not have full coverage. well now they have a summons for me to go to court. my question is do i have to go? will they arrest me if i dont? i work full time and can not take off to go. i plan on filing bankruptcy hopefully within the next two months or so. i just dont want to get into any real trouble.

Re: court summons

If you do not respond to the court summons, a judgment may be entered against you and your wages may be garnished. If you are contemplating filing bankruptcy in the next few months, then now is the time to consult with a bankruptcy professional, who should be able to help you prevent a default judgment in the law suit and help you get what you need ready for a bankruptcy filing.

Many bankruptcy lawyers offer a free initial consultation.
