Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

Death of custodial parent, single child 16yr, dad after money only

This kids mother just died, has no family in the area. Dad lives in florida, has never paid child support, has not spoken to the child in 3+ years. When his mother died his only two relatives came in, dad was saying he is taking him and wanted to know account balances, lock box keys location and wanted child to gather up all his mothers diamonds and bring to him. Child wants nothing to do with him, and the father did something in the past (kidnapped him I think), mother specifically stated in her will that custody should go to neighboor because she knew that aunt and dad would be after the money (has farm). What should this child do? He is scared of all of them and they are trying to rob him blind, they have already started going through the house and noone has even made funeral arrangements. Does the father automatically get custody even though it is stated differently in the will? How does his dad living in florida affect this? How can the child protect his moms bank accounts and land/property? They care nothing about him and are only worried about what they can get out of it, in fact his dad said you are coming to live with me and you are giving me the 800 a month social security check as well. Help?

Dad does automatically get custody unless it is challenged. An advocate for the youth (a Next Friend) needs to petition the court on his behalf.
