Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

I have been married to a fireman who is about to retire in Dec 2005 been married

Married over a year to a fireman who is ready to retire, can I touch his pension as we have only been married little over a year? He didn't want me working to stay home with his 8 year old son, I was recently employed for 15 years, have a back problem which is second reason for staying home and not working, now I have no job, no money, and basically not able to work my previous job because of back problems, now he wants a divorce because I want to try to work and it doesn't fit in with his job 24/48, plus he has a part-time job, we bought a house before we got married, my name is no where on any papers, but have lived in the house before marriage. What am I entitled to? I have no place to live and make a means of employment. Trying for disability but have been turned down, he has new car in his name only, everything is in his name. Now I know why. Please help me? I can't afford a lawyer, he gave me money when I needed it, now he is giving me money here and there, not much, what do I do? I have a 17 yr old son and a 21 year old son, which now I have no way to take care of my 17 year old's needs. My part from previous marriage, clothes, school, lunch money, and I will have no insurance on myself, my son has it through my ex husband.

You need to call an attorney and set up alternate payment arrangements. There are a lot of legal options you could possible have, but they cannot be addressed in an e-mail message, nor can your questions be answered without additional information.

In many cases, attorneys are either willing to work out alternative payment arrangements or possibly accept a pro bono case. You might also try contacting the local bar association's lawyer referral service.
