Legal Question in Personal Injury in Kentucky

Son injured in school

My son was injured April 17, 2008 during a high school football practice. He had the ball and was tackled and his head snapped forward and he broke his neck. We didn't find this out until the next day but only found out part of it, they said he broke the tip off of C-7 and that it would heal. Well months later and a neurosurgeon, we found he broke c-7.c-6 ripped a ligament into and had to have surgery to place screws and wire and bone. His high school football is over and yet we are stuck with over $5000.00 in medical bills which we can't pay we live paycheck to paycheck trying to pay off bills as it is. Is there anyway that I can make the school pay these bills he incurred and can I successfully make them pay damages. He was never going to be a college or pro player but he wanted to go into the military service and we think that is not an option anymore because of this injury.

Re: Son injured in school

HAve you inquired with the school to see if there is any insurance available to cover medical bills?

As to the school being responsible, it would depend on a number of factors; I would need more inoformation about the circumstances of his injury.
