Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Buying out the house from the ex

I have a marriage contract with my ex where it states that ''he shall pay for, at his separate expense, residential real estate, costing no less than ..., which home shall be owned one-half by each of Appearers. He shall pay at least 30% down at the time of purchase of the real property, and the reminder of the purchase price may be paid in the form of a 15-year mortgage.'' We were divorced. We are separate in property and he paid money down and mortgage with his own separate money. Now, if he wants to seel the house and my kids and I still live there, will I get something from the proceeds? Will I get half of the price of the house or just a half of whatever the amount we put down and whatever was paid for that short time we own it? Also, how to stop him from setting a huge price on the house as soon as he finds out I want to buy out my half?

Because a prenuptual agreement, like any other contract, has its own unique provisions I suggest you hire a lawyer to review the document and explain its terms to you.
