Re: child support

Dear LawGuru Friend,

A good thing about this site and this board is that it gives us lawyers a chance to see potential problems and then, if we do not alreay know the answers, to find them. Well, in your case, I know you could go to Montana and take care of this, but that is a long way. The next question is whether or not you can do it from here. If I were you, I call the Office of Family Support in or near your home and just ask them. I do lots of domestic (family law) matters, but this is one situation I just have not been confronted with. I hope if you find out the answer, you will let me know. In the meantime I will research it myself; and, if and when I find the answer, I will do my best to remember to come back here and either amend this answer or post another one to your question. Good luck! Sorry if I have left you confused; but I believe the local Office of Family Support of the State of Louisiana will help you answer this question. Good luck! Feel free to contact me to discuss this further. No charge for just talking!

Sincerely,

Hardy Parkerson, Atty.
