Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

my son is 17 and is attending a boarding school. he has 2 arrests for marijuana and drug paraphenlia, but is telling me he will sign out at 18. his attorney said his charges will should get the diversion program and charges dropped if he finishes the program. what if he just walks out and not finishes it?
