Legal Question in Personal Injury in Louisiana

My 16 yr. old son badly hurt in an altercation at school

My 16 yr. old son was hurt badly in a fight at school. The other child, same age, pushed him and then punched him and fractured his nose. He went through surgery and the Dr. said his nasal bone almost doesn't exist. It was like an eggshell and will have to go through this operation again. His nose would collapse if the dr. would have tried to repair it the way he needed. He is in tremendous pain. The boy is bragging to his friends that he is not finished with him. My son does not want to return to school, he is humiliated and embarassed. The doctor said his nasal passage was completely blocked. He has 2 splints in the nose to keep it from collapsing. which the dr. hopes to take out in a couple of weeks if possible. What are my options. Can i sue on behalf of my son. ??

Yes, the parents of the child who hit your son are liable for the damages he caused, which should be covered by their homeowner's insurance. You haven't told me anything that would indicate liability on the part of the school, but that could be considered. You need to consult an attorney.
