Legal Question in Administrative Law in Maryland

Maryland stadium authority abuses

The Md Stadium Authority (MSA) has been given the task of building a new basketball arena on the campus of the Univ. of Md. in College Park. Public information has been limited and not reliable. MSA has routed 14,000 dump trucks past residential neighborhoods when industrial routes have been easily available. Now they intend to pave the shoulders of MD Rt 193, a public road, for after-game traffic without so much as a public hearing, which I requested a few weeks ago and been totally ignored. Paving starts in less than 30 days. This use will remove, for all practical purposes, bicycle and pedestrian access from Rt 193 after games. This is in obvious violation of MD law. Bike/ped use will be endangered at other times as motorists will be enticed to illegally use the paved shoulders due to daily heavy traffic congestion. Does MSA have the power to modify public roads for their purposes to the detrement of the public in general?

Re: Maryland stadium authority abuses

Although perhaps not your first inclination, call the authority themself and ask them for information, in a polite manner. Ask to come in and see the documents if there are too many of them.
